| General Kwar looks very much like Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger in T2. He is huge and extremely powerful physically, and power stands highest in his personal scale of values. He ends in the Welgon Age after he had to exile from a nation in which he was the supreme dictator because he tried to enforce obligatory voting for all; the people did not agree and immediately voted him out (The Dictator). He is indeed considered by his fellow companions as the most powerful being in the Welgon Age, although this might not be true because of details hinting to cookie's possible omnipotence (Ultimate Power, The Vanishing Point). Powerful he nevertheless is: to avoid being overthrown, he banishes violence from the Welgon Age (Ultimate Power), and he is even stronger than gravity (Welcome to the Welgon Age). He bears a "twisted cross" (a swastika?) on his breast as a symbol for his quest for power (Pseudo-Pacifist Propaganda Parables), but later tears it off when he finally notices that his quest makes no sense (The Center of the Universe). His outlook on life is indeed shown to be not quite right when he gets depressive (The Vital Greed). Besides power, his one goal is to work out the perfect political system (The Encompassists). |
