| Anthony and I went to Collins after my compass. We killed a |
| spence or fool hen and cooked it for our dinner. |
| Tuesday, May 01, 1900 |
| We started back to St. Maries. We got as far as Petes |
| where we stayed all night and I saw a little girl that looked like |
| my little Rebecca back in Minnesota. |
| Wednesday, May 02, 1900 |
| We took a trail to make the way shorter. Got lost and Anthony |
| lost his revolver. Took dinner at Clarkia P.O. |
| Saturday, May 05, 1900 |
| We went over Elk Mountain to look for timber on the North |
| Fork. It rained all day and we cooked our dinner in a pouring |
| rain. |
| Wednesday, May 09, 1900 |
| We have worked for Chambers a few days waiting for him to |
| get ready to go on with a survey of the timber back of Elk |
| Mountain. |
| Friday, May 11, 1900 |
| We went up river to Ed ?? and it rained all night and the next |
| day. |
| Monday, May 14, 1900 |
| We commenced our survey up the North Fork of the St. |
| Maries to the timber back of Elk Mountain. |
| Wednesday, May 16, 1900 |
| It rained all day. We stayed in the tents but had to cook in the |
| rain. Did not survey any. |
| Thursday, May 17, 1900 |
| We moved camp 3 miles North to a new location. |
