| We went to see the Elk Creek falls which fall about 500 feet in |
| one half mile. There are 3 large falls and numerous small |
| ones. |
| Wednesday, June 06, 1900 |
| We came back to Collins and Swenson started for Spokane. |
| Wednesday, June 13, 1900 |
| I went to Vellmer and the next day took the train for Spokane. |
| Saturday, June 16, 1900 |
| Swenson & I went to Priest Lake which is a fine body of water |
| about 20 miles long and from two to 5 miles wide with |
| numerous small islands all through it. |
| Monday, June 18, 1900 |
| We went across the lake in a boat. Lost the trail and |
| wandered around all forenoon. It rained all day and we got to |
| a ranch owned by Mr. Newcombs about night and we |
| stopped all night with them. |
| Tuesday, June 19, 1900 |
| We traveled South down the Priest River and then we went up |
| the lower West branch to Murrys were we stayed two nights. |
| Thursday, June 21, 1900 |
| We crossed the Priest River on a raft and stayed all night with |
| Mrs. Albert. All night I could not sleep for mosquitoes so sit |
| out doors by a smoke the first part of the night. |
| Saturday, June 23, 1900 |
| We went to Spokane and I took the train for Lewiston. |
| Sunday, June 24, 1900 |
| I went over to Clarkston and saw my old school teacher Clara |
| Pentz nee Whitney. |
| Monday, June 25, 1900 |
| We proved up on our timber claims. |
