Commenced cooking for Porter.

Saturday, January 20, 1906

We broke camp at the saw mill. Snow got so deep we had to

quit. - 4 ft.

Sunday, January 28, 1906

I started for Minn. and walked 46 miles. Stopped at Kalispel

with Jim & Lou three days with Hilda and Raibe at Fort

Benton 4 days. Got home Feb. 15 at 7 P.M> to Manda and

the children once more. This is the longest I was away from

them.

Tuesday, March 27, 1906

I started to Walla Walla Was to be a forest ranger for the

government. Got there April 1 but did not like the job so I

started back to Kalispel Mont April 3 and got there the 4.

Went out to Jim's was there about a week. Then bought out

Stevens boarding house and sent for Manda. She got here

April 25 and we moved in and commenced work on the 26 of

April 1906.

Leona Francis was born. Another girl

We moved to Eureka Mont. and took charge of a rooming

house.

Thursday, March 12, 1908

I commenced work for Eureka Lumber Co.

Saturday, August 22, 1908

We left the rooming house and rented a private dwelling

house.

Monday, November 16, 1908

I commenced scaling logs for E. L. Co. at Trego Siding Mont.

Finished March 6, 1909.

Monday, June 14, 1909

I took charge of the bunk?? filing crew at Trego for E. L. Co.

Finished Aug. 26/09.

Tuesday, September 14, 1909

Went up to Kvaws?? camp to ??jury and scale.
