| I sold old Stub and Stan. I hate to see the old lads go but it |
| can not be helped. They are the first team I ever owned paid |
| seven dollars for the two when they were calves and kept |
| them nine years. Sold them for $125.00. |

| Sister Kate came home from Plainview. We were glad to |
| see her. This is the longest she has ever been away from |
| home. |

| I went up to Ground House with Albert Adams and the next |
| day we went on up to Mud Creek. Saturday we came home. |
| Mud Creek is within 19 miles of Hinkley. Brought home |
| spruce trees. |
| Wednesday, June 09, 1886 |
| Frank Sylvester came up here June 6. Kate and Frank |
| commenced keeping house at Foley. Frank got the |
| telegraph office there. |
| Thursday, June 10, 1886 |
| I had a load of lumber down to Princeton for Babcock, it was |
| the first time I was ever there. I don't think much of that town. |

| The Knights of Labor had a dance in their hall. Had a good |
| time. |

| We assembled in our hall for the first time. There was a large |
| attendance. |
