John Tripp, Robert Tripp, Albert Adams and myself went up
to mud creek to hunt. Camped in the water tank.

We came home from hunting. I killed one big buck. That was
all we got. Had lots of fun. I jumped off of the train out here in
front of the house. Found out that Laura had been here all
afternoon and had just left for Oak Park to take the train
home. Wants me to come down tomorrow. Will go I guess.

Wend down to see Laura. We had a long talk and we
concluded that we could not get along together so shook
hands, kissed and parted good friends. Well I think I could
have loved her had everything went well. Perhaps it is all for
the best. I will not mourn over it at all and will always say that
she is a lady and a good virtuous and hard working girl
