Lew Hart was buried today. He accidentally shot his left arm
off and died form loss of blood soon after. Leaves a wife and
child to mourn this loss. I have known him all my life.
We were at Elma Lund's funeral a few days before this.

We heard today that Lottie Kerrick or Gusslander was dead.
Left a baby and husband. It beats all how the young people
have died around here this year.
I was thirty years old today and was elected surveyor of
Benton Co. Did not think of running until Nov. 1, and did not
canvass any until Nov. 3. (Got the most votes but my name
had not been put on any ballots. So the commissioners
appointed the old surveyor.)

Bro Joe went back to Barnsville to work again. We hated to
see him go again, but he is doing well there so it is best for
him to hold the position down until he gets a start.

I was married at 8 o'clock P.M. to Miss Amanda Check ("The
Little Girl"). We went to Milaca and was married by the Rev. [
and never regretted it ] Mr. Proctor at the residence of my
Bro. - in - law G. F. Sylvester. We came back the next day.
Then came home. So it is over and I am happy and content
at last. ??Another note between entries that did not copy
