Getting Settled

August 24, 1998

Well, it may seem like I've been avoiding adding to my web pages, but the truth is that this is the first opportunity I have had to get online. I just found a computer lab with netscape where I can edit my pages and all. I plan to be on here a lot. I think I even have keys to the library and all if they are not open. I better test that out as well as the keys. =)

Anyhow, I have been extremely busy. I finally had a couple of days this past weekend to rest. Since I got to Quincy on July 31, my life has been moving non-stop. The worst part is the physical exhaustion I have felt. There is no way to explain it clearly. On Thursday, I had problems walking from my bedroom to my bathroom because I hurt so bad.

I have also been frustrated with Rick. He is not what I expected, but at the same time I think my moods have been slightly off (too much caffeine) and I am not used to working at this level. It has been a long time. I figure I should give it a chance.

All my residents have moved in, save 2, and it has been rather interesting. Problems on the men's floor exists with none of them wanting a roommate. They'll have to live with it since housing is above capacity as it is. My staff is awesome!! I have some concerns here and there, but nothing that isn't trainable. My residents, overall, seem like a good bunch. I just hope I'm a good RD and don't come down too hard or not come down hard enough. Time will tell after I get fully settled.
