Good Times

March 30, 1998

Well, I am feeling 150% better than a week ago. It turns out I had strep throat. No wonder I felt miserable. Luckily, with the help of penicillin, I am feeling better. The only problem is that with the sore throats I had with a sinus infection and strep, my vocal chords have entered recovery. They are a little weak and strained. Singing isn't a major option at the moment. Soon they will come back.

My visit with Tamara went well. I never thought it possible, but I was absolutely talked out. I didn't want to talk about my attempt or recovery anymore. I need a break from it. She covered everything starting from my first depression all the way to the present. We spent hours talking---or I should say I spent hours talking. One of the best parts was getting to go out for dinner. We went to a pretty nice place, that was quite, and had seafood dinners. I just love shrimp. It was also nice to get out of the house. Anyhow, from talking to Tamara I found out that I will be a focus of the article. It seems that she searched for a while for a person to interview until the Glamour people found my web page. The article is due to Glamour by mid-April, but the article won't appear in the magazine until late summer, early fall (I believe).

After over a year of being house-bound, I am finally out and about!! =) I got my wheels this weekend (it would have been last had I not gotten sick). I was biking around the beaches this weekend. On Saturday I went to the library and picked up a few books. Then I headed over to my mega-favorite place to eat, Taco Bell. Yumm, yumm! Sunday, I went to a movie, Wild Things (I will have a review soon) and then went to Tappin's Used Bookstore. I picked up several books. Now I am flooded with books. I finished one already and I'm on to the next, Taltos by Anne Rice. There is a lot of reading in my future!

Mail day was good. I got my federal refund check. Now I will be filing for bankruptcy. I can't wait to get that behind me. With the money left over, I will be buying glasses. I haven't had new ones for 3 years. Hopefully I will find frames that are stylish and yet not too fad-like. We'll see.
