Welcome to My Kitchen. I love to cook and I love collecting cookbooks. In the last 4 years I have bought 70 cookbooks and have made hundreds of recipes.
Many of the recipes were past down from my grandmothers who both came from Charleston, South Carolina. I think the term for recipes from this region of the United States between Charleston and Savannah is called "Low Country". These recipes are influenced by
Caribbean, France, Africa Spain cuisine.
I have hundreds of other recipes I that have collected and prepared over the years, past to me from family and friends that I adapt to my own personal taste. My love for cooking is reflected in how I cook. There is one ingredient that I add to every recipe I make and that is LOVE.
"...cooking really is about love. Cooking is a way to show it, serve it, share it. Cooking is as much about nourishment for the soul as it is the stomach." Patti Labelle ~ Labelle Cuisine
My passion for cooking has recently led me to preparing foods from other countries. It all started in 1999 when I married my beloved Aziz who is from Bangladesh. I never know what country or region my love for cooking will take me. If you are looking for a special recipe to prepare or just looking for a variation of a favorite recipe ASK I just might have it.
