Reba Speaks
I dreamed I got out of bed today...
The right side of bed or course...
When who should be a-standin' there...
'Twas Reba, ya know, my horse.
Reba looked at me and made a smile...
With horsey teeth, you'll note...
And then she made a horsey laugh...
From somewhere in her throat.
From somewhere deep inside her...
Reba made a rumbling sound...
And then she started to recite...
The effect was most profound.
"Oy, Wode" said Reba, my chestnut horse...
"We've traveled far and wide...
But now it's almost autumn...
And I want to come inside."
"You don't know how cold it gets...
A-sleepin' in the barn...
Without someone to snuggle with...
And keep ol' Reba warm."
Well, I got up and rubbed my eyes...
In shock, I'll have you know...
Now Reba's sleeping in the house...
Away from the rain and snow.
