. . . the saga continues.

Sunflowers growing
tall, strong, majestic glow...
beckoning the birds

Walked outside to find this marvelous patch of sunflowers. Where did they come from?? I didn’t plant them. Must have been the work of the birds--a little self interest perhaps. Well, great place for sunflowers...if the birds can do it, so can I. Three years, three years, I have been planting sunflowers and haven’t gotten a bloom.

My children, much like their mother, didn’t like getting their hands dirtyeither-- so they never seemed to need me when I was working in the garden. Afraid of a little work themselves. . .

My spring garden is the best. Once the weather gets hot, the plants better hope for rain.

I don't really have any favorite sites with flowers.

Back

When I was little I hated working in the garden. Couldn’t stand getting my hands dirty, didn’t like emptying my dad’s pockets when I did the laundry for the same reason. He worked in a factory and the pockets for some reason were always grimy. When I had my children I found gardening a calming and restful activity.
