Just to tell you a little more about myself~

I enjoy photography, scrapbooking, hiking, hunting, quilting, reading and many other things!

I have finished about 30 quilts, am working on one right now, and have 6 that need to be quilted. I have put on the site some pictures of what I have done myself.

  • I have studied alot on Pregnancy, Childbirth and apprenticed with a midwife for about 5 years. I have assisted on alot births and have had my three boys at home. Home birth is such a passion for me, and one day I hope to pursue it more. Right now I am volunteering as a Doula for a low income clinic.

  • When I was going through a difficult divorce, I started putting some thoughts down on paper so if you would like to look at them, you are more than welcome.

  • I have really started to enjoy cooking in the last couple years. Food is just another passion for me-- I love to eat. I took the "Love Language" test a while back and scored really low in the "gift" area... but decided to retake it and think about "gifts of food, restaurants, etc" instead of nicknack type gifts. I scored so high in "gifts" that time-- I know my love language is FOOD! My youngest son, Stephen got that from me-- he lives for food. He watches the clock to know how much time is left before he can have a snack. Every day he comes home from school bringing a special snack for me in his pocket and just bubbles over when I share a tasty treat with him. I homeschooled the boys for about 1 1/2 years, before I just got too frustrated and put them in public school. It has some drawbacks, but I'm really glad we put them in and they are all doing really well. It has given us so many opportunities to talk about life/friends/decisions with the boys that I probably wouldn't have been able to talk to them about if they were not in that social setting. I was home schooled and we used to think it silly when people would use the need for "social" contact as a need for public school. I realize now, it's not that homeschool kids have any problem with interacting socially, it's that we can learn so much about people, which ones to trust, to become friends with, associate with. Which will be very helpful as the boys get older and enter the work force and look for a spouse.

God has brought a wonderful man into my life. Brian is truly a blessing from above. He is wonderful with the boys, they call him dad and are very proud to do so. Brian is the most wonderful man I have ever met, he is the perfect one that every woman dreams of, but doesn't seem to exist, he helps with the kids, cleans the house, does the dishes and laundry, encourages me to do things for myself, friends and hobbies. He respects me and treasures me. He is just as involved in church as I am and just as committed to the Lord. I have to say, having a spiritual connection with a spouse is the most rewarding relationship ever.

On April first we had a baby girl- her name is Naomi and she is such a sweetheart. Definitely a very good baby.
