"BOWLING PRIZES"
1997
I had been the Secretary of our Church Bowling League for over 10 years.
A few years ago, I began stitching some of the Prizes for the GAG prizes, in order to save the league $$
From then on the league members looked forward to the banquet, just to see what I had come up with! *Grin* And I never had any complaints!!

In lots of leagues, if a bowler rolls a "111", it's called an "outhouse"! We USED to give rolls of toilet paper to those bowlers who rolled a "111", for EACH one they rolled for the year! That could get expensive, so when I found the pattern for these, I jumped at the chance to stitch them! Each bowler who rolls a "111" is given one of these, with the # of "111's" rolled along with their name! They are made into refrigerator magnets! One year I had to stitch 12 outhouses for a total of 17 "111's"!!! I got the feeling that some bowlers were rolling the game, just so they could get this prize!! *Grin*

This outhouse was stitched in 1998. Notice I added a raffia bow and a miniature roll of toilet paper! LOL The small wooden outhouse was given to the bowler who finished the year with a 111 AVERAGE!

This outhouse was stitched in 1999. This was my first attempt at desigining my own pattern for an outhouse because I couldn't find anymore NEW patterns.
Also this year, one of the married couples on the league (each on a different team) bowled each other on the same night on the same pair of lanes. In the SAME game they BOTH bowled a 111!! So of course, I HAD to stitch a SPECIAL prize for them! LOL The whole league got a big kick outta this one!

This outhouse was stitched in 2002. If you remember, after 9/11, EVERYTHING was turning up Patriotic. At the banquet this year, all my decorations were Patriotic, so I designed this outhouse (using the 1998 pattern by changing the colors) to go along with it!
I painted the fronts of the hoops BLUE, and on the sides, painted RED & WHITE stripes.

This was a special award for one of our bowlers who had a "DUTCH 200" game. I took her ACTUAL line score and stitched it on this towel.
