Greetings from your construction supervisor! Happy New Year!

Best wishes to all of you as you work for membership growth!!

Your efforts and enthusiasm are appreciated. I urge you to use whatever tools it takes to keep your members happy and to reach out to prospective members!! Our membership numbers continue to improve, but we have not recovered the 600 members we lost last year. Let's try a little bit harder!

Encourage your branch members to participate in the Membership Contest for 1999-2000. Remember, the following will be honored at the Convention:

• All branches which increase their memberships by 5% or more will receive a Certificate of Achievement plus recognition of their Membership Vice President (Go for the Membership Star in the 5-Star Program! Be sure to apply.)
  
  
• All branches increasing their membership (up to 4.9%) will receive a Certificate of Merit.
  
  
• All branches that maintain their memberships from Feb. 1, 1999, to January 31, 2000, will be listed on the State Honor Roll.

Hopefully all 55 branches will be honored in April. Good luck!

Continue to invite friends, new neighbors and relatives to your branch meetings. Ask your daughter to a meeting. We need to encourage younger women to join our organization. There is a place for everyone in AAUW.
