Hi there maggi- I really like your web page, its very informative. I think its neat there is a place for teen moms to come and get help and information :) I am the mother of 2 beautiful little girls. I am going to enroll next fall in a local community college with a G E.D. program and take some pre-college classes. I was still going to regular high school but when I had Myeh (like the singer) I had to drop out, and my boyfriend, still goes to high school, he is a senior, still is 17 though. My first daughter's dad Cort i doesn't even know she exists, and I want to keep it that way. Joshua, My boyfriend now, is going to adopt cortni, she's all he's ever known. If this sounds very difficult, its because it is, being a teenage mom is one of the most difficult things, b t it can be done, but you have to grow up very very very quick and be prepared for anything, and be ready for MAJOR changes. hey thanks for such a great web page, keep up the great work!!! I have been dating a guy for quite a while now and we are talking very seriously about things like marriage. Maggi, Thank you for removing my URL that Sleepy Cat said was hers. First of all, I never use that kind of language nor do I presume to judge others. I learned many years ago I was not perfect and I was a Woman BECOMING. Which means, I learn and grow every da . Secondly, I want to compliment you on your choice of subjects for a web site. It is time teens have some real truth to what life is like with a baby, and if they are lucky, a husband. It isn't easy nor is it impossible. I can still remember the h ndreds of teen moms I delivered when I was a resident. I will never forget the youngest of my "babies having babies". She was 13 and came to labor and delivery with her teddy bear. I knew the baby she would soon have would take its place, but in a much more real world. If you do your math correctly, you can see I was a teen Mom. I had finished college very young (18) and in the 60's women weren't admitted to many medical schools (I went back when I was 31, finished as a Chief Resident in OB/GYN on my 40th birthday). ou basically got married and had children. I lived my life backwards. Had my child and then went to college again for a second degree and Med School. I was lucky to have one child. I had a hysterectomy when I was 25. My daughter, and my 9 year old gr ndson are my life. Knowing I may raise him if his mother loses her battle with cancer makes me think of how much I would have missed had I not had my daughter when I did. I don't advocate teen pregnancy. I think women of all ages have a right to choose their own destiny. That is the reason for my web site - to give women the knowledge to empower themselves. Nice site. I'm a childbirth educator specialized in teaching teens. Although i do not know sleepy cat -- I hope you could tell by the vulgar remarks and acquisations --shes an adult(as she pointed out) but only by age. Those that judge blindly will be udged ULTIMATELY. Teen pregnancy is not as cut and dry as sleepy cat would like to think, we should be glad she doesn't have children to subject to what appears to be a very judgmental, inmature and greatly flawed character. Perhaps there is something eeply bothering the poor soul and young mothers have become the outlet or she just has nothing better to do with her time.

HI I was just reading your page, and I would really really like to comment on "SleepyCat"'s response. You are not a teen parent you have no idea what they go thru, nobody asked you to come here in the 1st place, as Maggie said it is a plac for reference, personally I think this is one of the best teen parenting pages I have seen. you were not there to make their decisions for them, so you CAN NOT judge them. Everyone chooses to make their own decions in life. and whether their babies were planned or no , WHATEVER decion they make whether they choose to be RESPONSIBLE and keep the child, or they choose to be RESPONSIBLE and feel they can't care for the baby, and give her/him up for adoption is strictly up to the mother and father NOT "PUH THETIC" ignoran people who claim to be christians, and yet, judge other people for their choices/mistakes ETC. AND by marrying they are providing the baby with a 2 parent home, which is something you can't ask for to be better. Even if you have sex before marriage, ge pregnant, whatever!!!!!! GOD is a forgiving God, a Loving God! He will forgive you for no matter what!!! That is so great that maggie teaches abstinence, since she didn't do it for her self, she is trying to help others, the point of this web site is not to promote it, or "brag" but to educate and inform. I think that, to be fair, you should also include stories of women who DO NOT regret having had an abortion. Not everyone regrets their choice. I realize that some women do, but not every woman does. For the record, I have never had an abortion, but of the women I know of who have had them, I'd say that at least 90% do not regret their choice. Some of them had children after the abortions, some had them because they already had a lot of children to t ke care of, and some had them because they don't want children at all. I respect your opinions and beliefs regarding abortion, but I think that to be fair, you should also let people know that not everyone regrets the choices that they've made.
