Only on earth can you find such beautiful creations as leaves. When Mommy and Daddy take me on walks, and we walk under the trees, I cannot contain my excitement upon seeing the thousands of bright green little flags dancing with the breeze! I always indicate to them which leaves I'd like to take for my collection, but they often answer that the leaves are too high. They're not too high for the birds, though, so I'll have to investigate this idea of flying some day... but that's for later. For now, Mommy and Daddy lift me up to reach the leaves that are close enough, and I choose my favorite leaf or leaves and pick them off the tree. I try to carry them all the way home, but I keep falling asleep en route and dropping them somewhere along the way. However, the leaves you see on this page are a few of those that actually make it all the way home to be scanned. The collection you see here are only leaves that I selected and picked myself and carried all the way home in my own hands. I hope you enjoy my collection as much as I do!
I picked this one at the Champs de Mars with Mommy on July 14. It was a gift for Daddy who had to work all day on a holiday.
This was one of two I picked at the same time at the Champs de Mars on July 19 with Mommy. I dropped the other one because I fell asleep on the way home, but this one I held onto really tight the whole time. That's why it looks a little crumpled.
I picked this leaf one Saturday morning with Daddy while Mommy was working. I played with it for a really long time and accidentally tore it, but it's still pretty anyway.
Now this leaf had a very interesting color and texture. I actually found this one on the grass. It makes me wonder if the green ones grow on trees and the yellow and brown ones grow up from the ground. By the way, this leaf was really at least twice the size you see here.
