somewhere between the moment i woke up and the moment i got dressed my brain got confused. see, it was supposed to decide to dress appropriate for slightly chilly weather with extra layers to keep the germs, mucus and sore throat in. instead i ended up dressed like a 20-year old frat boy named chad in shorts, pretending not to notice the hairs on my legs frozen stiff and erect. so dumb. of course, i'm not known for my brainy self, exactly. it's the same kind of dumbness that has me mentioned in em's biased awards 2000 (i won best splash page picture! hahahahaha... if my granny'd only known when she snapped it 15 years ago...) which lead to hords (okay, tens of extra) people stomping into this journal. what do jennie do? she doesn't update for a week. c'est la vie. (actually it was kind of scary. :) between hospital visits, thurston moore's barley conspiracies, buying 14 cans of progresso's vegetarian veggy soup (99 cents a can! i saved almost $18!), coming down with a second cold that even has my voice shut down, watching The Wonder Boys twice (go see) and working on the school paper website, it just wasn't letting itself happen. the good news? i suppose the fact that the site is up as of a few hours is good news. it's small and simple, but it's up. so. without further ado - i invite you to read our february 10 issue of the Campus Echo:
it won't blow you away, but then, it's not meant to. whatever. i need to go rid myself of the latest batch of mucus. soon. :) |
