boobies!

okay, no boobies, just an excerpt from an online chat with john cusack about the movie "high fidelity" which is my current love:

reeper65: You are by far one of the top actors in Hollywood. How do you rate your career?

John: Well, I have to go with the Denny Terio answer. I think the career is in progress. I don't know. Dr. Laner is very hard on my career.

Mark: I don't think we're quite anywhere yet. I have very high standards for my patients.

John: I showed Dr. Laner "High Fidelity" in a room of film students and 500 fans. They laughed, they cried, they were moved, they were gripped. As soon as the film was over, Dr. Laner stood, slapped me in the face, and left. This is the first time I've seen him since. I think he takes on the burden of my art for me.

Mark: I understand that people like John's work, but there are more amazing things to come.

John: And I think Dr. Laner wants to be a bit of an iconoclast. If people like a film I do, he'll go the other way, to keep me balanced. If I do something that is clearly a box office flop, he'll cheer for me. I think "High Fidelity" is one of the finest films I've ever done, and look at his reaction to this.

Mark: I am a doctor, not a movie buff. My reaction is to John, not the movie. I am not paid to like films. I'm paid to save lives.

John: He's a Kervorkian for the entertainment industry, with a song in his heart and a twinkle in his eye. And believe me, he doesn't like what he's doing.

i like funny ha-ha. do you like funny ha-ha? haha! okay, i'm definitely off my rocker. what can i say. swiping the "high fidelity" press kit from the news paper office has been a highpoint today. that and a gift in the form of one altoid. very nice.

okay, clearly, in the words of n'sync - "baby bye bye bye!" - i'll return with a more collected brain stem tomorrow.
