i know what boys like
![]() there is an 80's dance at the cat's cradle tomorrow night. for a week now i've been trying to figure out what to wear. i'm not making an attempt at 'best costume' so i can win a prize, i just really, really want to get it right. jessica phrased it best with "It is cool, it's like Halloween in April." i was going to try for the flashdance look (sweatshirt off the shoulder, skanky tights, huge legwarmers, cocker spaniel hair) but realised it'd probably work better for somebody who actually look like they dance. then i was going to try for some pseudo-madonna. i found one of those poofy white see through under-gown skirts that were popular (briefly) along with black denim jackets, white gloves and black tights, but i looked too much like Divine in john water's HairSpray so i deserted that idea as well. after some last-minute e-mail advice from em on how to properly apply aquanet (hehehe) i decided to go for sort-of-punky. my outfit will consist of tye-dye tights, black skirt to knee and my big, old, torn black john lennon t-shirt. i'm dying my hair blue tonight (finally) and tomorrow night i will apply enormous amounts of aquanet hairspray (using the recommended back combing/ratting and spraying technique as adviced ;) to make it all stiff and 80's punky. final touch: two long plastic skeleton earrings jessica gave me for x-mas. as it will take years before i have pictures to share, i figured i'd finally show what the hell a goth-bunny is. it was my costume for halloween 1998 and i kept meaning to show what the hell it was - basically, gothy + bunny ears = gothbunny. view the results above where i pose along with gene (dressed as my pimp) and aziza (dressed as gypsy). okay, i admit it. i'm just a slut for dressing up. proceed. (and thanks, em!) |
