NO. No one fooled me today.

Okay, so that's not entirely true - I was halfway fooled by a fake article featured at The Dent, the Tori News page. They reported of an upcoming tour where Tori would perform b-sides from her JUNE release of a box set. I got so excited. Until I got to the part where they said Bjork, PJ Harvey, Joni Mitchell and Van Morrison would be touring along with her, that is. Oh, the gullability of fans. Actually, I still feel a bit bummed about it. Bah. At least I didn't fall for the article in a Swedish news paper that said "No more internet accounts or homepages can be sold/opened - The Internet is FULL!". Hah.

I slept about 11 hrs last night. I achieved this by for once giving into my yawns at 8 pm and actually going to bed. Apart from pee breaks, I slept until my alarm went off at 7:12 am. And lo and behold - I was fully awake, wide opened eyes and all. It was a novelty indeed. Unfortunately, I went to sleep before I made dinner. I wasn't very hungry, true, but I feel cheated out of some food, and that is never right because food is good.

I got asked by one of my professors (on behalf of the editor in chief) if I wanted to write a piece about Kosovo for the next issue of the school paper. At first I was puzzled as to why they would ask me, but then I remembered talking about the issue in class the other day. As you can tell, this diary is not the only place where I bring the issue up, heh. I feel very nervous about this 'assignment', though. First of all, I have never written anything for something public (er, this excluded). After all, it's a miracle if I even write papers for my classes. I don't even know how to approach this. thing.

From what I understand it, they want a personal piece, something that can make the war a bit more alive to the students than just something they hear about when they zap by CNN. They know that I am half-bosnian, yes, and I did have class mates that were refugee kosovo-albanians a few years back. I still don't know what to write about. I e-mailed a boy in Belgrad to see if he will share some eye witness stories with me. I printed out 50 pages worth of articles from the past week from the Swedish news paper I read. That's 44 more pages than I have printed out with things for my research paper that is due in less than 2 weeks.

I asked my professor what length it should be because that would give me an idea of how detailed it could be and because it seemed like the professional thing to ask. "As long as you like - it's an important issue and thanks to you we have a link to write about it." You see, the paper is a Campus paper so they don't really feature things that occur around the world. Because of my heritage, I have a link to what's going on which makes it legit for them to cover. Heh.

Ah well. I try, at least. I'm lucky because my ex-advisor (the one who gives me rides every now and then, including tonight) is an English/media professor, so I'll have him help me shape whatever I try and write this weekend. (Actually I came to him whining about this, only to get the response that not only did he think I would do great writing it, he said I myself should be in focus for an article. Bah. Been there, done that, fed up with it.)

Another professor shouted for me when I walked by his office, wanting to know if I had resolved the text book issue (i.e. the fact that I don't have one. Long story.) - I told him no. He sighed and said that the whole situation is most unfortunate because I clearly deserve an A in the class but can't study properly without the book. (Consider that I made a B- on the last test without even having read the chapters) When I said I wouldn't be able to afford it even if it _was_ in the book store by now, he made some supposedly funny remarks about how text books should go before anything, including food. Heh. Food? How about I'm struggling enough as it is trying to scrounge up money for this months bills? Yeah - I have to over charge my VISA card to get some extra food things at the drugstore and haven't been able to find $10 for this months Simplenet bill, but sure I'll pay $30-$40 for a text book to use for a month.

Oh yeah. The Simplenet bill. As I said, I haven't been able to pay the $10 (ten) bill this month - my VISA wouldn't let them grab it out of them. I only have cash for bus next week. Hence, this account will most likely be suspended (I hope that means inactive but not cancelled as I have no idea where I could relocate everything to that quickly) in a few days. *sigh* And that's that. My guess is that I will continue this journal back at the old Geocities page when that happens:

*sigh* Whatever. Can't write more. Too consumed dreaming about Minestrone soup. Have a Good Easter!
