okay, so.. it might be working out after all. i'm not screaming and jumping and using exclamation points until i'm out of the charlotte airport, but.. it's definately looking better than it did yesterday. the document is still lost, but i finally got in touch with the woman at nccu and she said she'll make a new document. all i have to do is pay fedex (or dhl) and get it delivered here. i called dhl so far and they said it would be 1-2 days, but fedex online said they'll be a bit cheaper, and it's the company the woman at the school mentioned so.. it's leaning towards it. my aunt also spent 2 hours on the phone last night, partially lecturing me for having panicked and gone back home and not having gotten in touch with the right people (yeah, we all know i'm so great with phones..) and part calling everywhere to see what could be done. finally she got the travel agency to promise to call me in the morning. and they did. i got to reschedule the trip, no charge. so i did. i'm (maybe??) leaving on sunday, as it looks right now. i'm not rocking hula-hoops. i'll simply believe it when i see it. alais, it looks better, though. thanks for your kind e-mails :) the us apartement aziza (my roommate in america) has been offered to housesit her mom's place this semester while her mom is away working. she hasn't decided completely what to do with the apartement, but comparing not having to shell out hundreds of dollars/month for a semester when you could be living for free, it's likely she'll sublet her room. i totally understand and support that. however, i must admitt it also scares the shite out of me a bit. for the first time i'll share an apartement with a complete stranger. i don't even have to start listing all the scary outcomes this could have. i'm only adamant about a few things:
the doomed clock...
