"Yes, movies! Look at them--(a wave toward the marvels of Grand Avenue) all of those glamorous people--having adventures--hogging it all, gobbling the whole thing up! You know what happens? People go to the movies instead of moving! Hollywood characters are supposed to have all the adventures for everybody in America, while everybody in America sits in a dark rom and watches them have them! Yes, until there's a war. That's when adventure becomes available to the masses! Everyone's dish, not only Gable's! Then the people in the dark room come out of the dark room to have some adventures themselves--Goody, Goody!--It's our turn now, to go to the South Sea Island--to make a safari--to be exotic, far-off!-- But I'm not patient. I don't want to wait till then. I'm tired of the movies and I am about to move!"

--tom wingfield , scene 6, the glass menagerie, by tennessee williams

the irony (or whatever) being that i heard the above passage watching a filmatization of the glass menagerie with john malkovich in class this morning. john malkovich should be in all movies. all the time. period.

greed! i watched the gameshow greed on fox last night, and i was so sucked in you'd have thought i was sitting right next to funky contestant stuart with the scary hair. i hollered. i screamed. i jumped out of my seat repeatedly because, as i declared loudly to gabbi, i couldn't stand watching it any longer because my nerves might break from tension, i rolled on the floor in agony as one of the contestants initially answered a question wrong... greed. *sigh*

note my surprise when i got to my pop culture class today and was told that for our final research project, our professor have divided us into 4-ppl teams with a category to research and present, and my group got.. gameshows. i already ordered the rest of my team to rent and watch quiz show. mMmMMmm.

greed.

yes, this is my number 500 entry. and yes. this about as entertaining as it gets. ah well. happy 500, me. it's been a weird, long ride, and i think what i, above all, have really discovered about myself is.. MAN, i can talk a donkey's tail off! ah well. hip hip, 500, hooray!

lastly - my e-mail program had a glitch the other day and suddenly asked me if i wanted to save my sent e-mail.. from january 2036. i said yes, and now the folder sits there neatly.. 'sent-mail-jan-2036'. apparently i will send the exact same e-mails then as i sent in october and this month so far. ah well. nice to know i'll still be around then.

i'm off to bake biscuits and try out the prickly pear jelly jessica brought me. mmmmmmm. jelly.

peas.
