From Your President's Pen

What a delight to be able to see four new members come into our club at the January meeting. Welcome to Suzanne Marshall, Mollie Kemp, Alexis McGhee and Liz Turnipseed. They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our club. Thanks so much to the sponsors who were responsible for bringing these new members to us. We all know women who would be an asset to our club - we see them in church, at work, in the grocery store and at functions within our community. Keep your eyes open for these prospective new members. Wouldn't it be great to have new members each month. If you missed the January meeting, please try to make the February meeting so that you can meet the new members and say hello to all of us OLD members.

February Meeting

The speaker for our February meeting is Peggy Funk. Peggy is coordinator for most of the programs that are conducted at Maxwell for the benefit of the spouses and children of International Officers who come to Maxwell for either Air Command and Staff College or Air War College. Peggy will tell us about these various programs and give us a profile of the people from the many countries that are currently at Maxwell. She will be a wonderful speaker since she has a great passion for what she does. She is the wife of a retired Air Force Officer but did not get involved in these programs until after her husband retired.

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark... One: Don't miss the boat. Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat. Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark. Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big. Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done. Six: Build your future on high ground. Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs. Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs. Nine: When you're stressed, float a while. Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals. Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.
