From the President's Pen

The New Member Tea, held at Deer Creek Clubhouse, was a great success. We had 9 prospective members attend and they all represented different classifications. Thanks to Jo Coleman and her committee of Caroline Bartmettler, Nell Sellers and Liz McCurdy. All of you did a great job. The one thing I didn't do at the Tea was thank these ladies - they made it a most enjoyable evening.

Thanks to everyone who has been out there selling those Bahamas Cruise tickets for our club. We have sold almost 500 tickets, which is great for a club of our size.

Kathy

Happy Birthday

Ashley Thomas - March 3
Joyce Cobb -March 16

FUND RAISING UPDATE
Cruise Raffle Sales

Keep up the good work on selling our Raffle tickets for the Bahama Cruise. You can turn your ticket money (cash and checks) into Linda Haigler and your ticket stubs can be turned into Kathy Alred. Almost 500 tickets have been distributed for sale, with Success-by-Six receiving 50 tickets to sell. The minimum amount that our club will donate to Success-by-Six at this time is $6,000, but it could be more with additional sales of tickets. Keep up the good work!

Remember that all tickets must be sold by April 1st and the winner will be chosen at our April meeting. Especially thanks to Alabama World Travel and Amy Daniels for getting our club chosen as the beneficiary of the cruise show.

Nominating Committee:

Nell Sellers and Robin Jones will serve on the Nominating committee.

The committee members will be contacting club members in the next few months. Members are urged to respond positively when called by the committee.

DISTRICT CONFERENCE
Guntersville,AL

The club voted to send four (4) representatives from our club to the District Conference on April 26-28 in Guntersville, Alabama this year. This is a great opportunity and if you are interested in attending, please contact Kathy. If you have never attended, please consider doing so - it is a great way to learn more about Altrusa and meet members in our sister clubs in Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana.

Altrusa Principle #3

Our Thoughts and Prayers:

Amy Creel suffered a light stroke a few weeks ago and doctors are trying to find out why. Please keep Amy in your prayers as she deals with this, school, family and work.

Marsha Mixon suffered a stroke and has been moved to HealthSouth Rehab Hospital (think it is on Narrow Lane Road across from Baptist Hospital) and she is in Room 106A. She cannot have visitors until after 3:30 each day because of the rehab she will be undergoing. Kathy saw her yesterday and she seems to be much better. Please keep Marsha and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
