Minutes From July 18, 2002 Meeting

Altrusa International, Inc. of Montgomery, Alabama met on July 18, 2002 in the home of Nell Sellers with 16 members present. Vice President Melinda Walton called the meeting to order.

Jo Coleman distributed copies of the minutes from the June meeting. Caroline Barmettler made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected. The motion was seconded by Kay Miller and unanimously carried.

Treasurer, Linda Haigler, advised the Treasurer's report for June was not available and would be furnished at the August meeting. Linda reported the meal for the evening would be $7.00 per person.

Kay Miller, Chairman of the International Relations Committee, reported that she is looking for a foreign officer's wife with a good command of English to be the next speaker. Pat Morgan suggested that a speaker from Korea to speak about customs would be timely in light of the Hyandi Plant moving to Montgomery.

Pat Morgan, Chairman of the Community Service Committee, finalized the plans for the C.I.T.Y Graduation.

There were no other committee reports.

Melinda Walton read a letter from the Sunshine Center requesting funds.

Amy Creel made a request for prayer for her grandmother, who had a severe stroke.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

Following the meeting, members enjoyed a baby shower for Ashley Thomas and Amy Daniel.
