90 Marven Gardens - Wellfleet, MA.

"The-House-in-the-Woods"

The house is located on a wooded acre of pine and oak trees.  It is about three hundred yards from a deeded access to a private beach on the eastern shore of the inner harbor.  The beach is an ideal spot for sailing or boating in the inner harbor or to Great Island. The village of Wellfleet is a pleasant fifteen minute walk along the shore and across Uncle Tim's Bridge.
The house was built in 1987.  The ceramic tiled cedar entryway opens into the atrium, which is the center of the house.  This open space is roofed by twelve skylights and is surrounded by a gallery that leads to outside decks. The atrium has a rectangular glass table with chairs in the center and a bistro table with two butterfly chairs on the side. The room is lighted with wall sconces and ceiling track lights, creating a very pleasant space for dining and for social gatherings either during the day or at night.  The room is filled with growing plants.   All the rooms in the house open from the atrium.  To the east is a kitchen with skylight and a 12' x14'  breakfast room.  The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, a wall oven-microwave unit, a counter-top range and a stainless steel sink.  The kitchen is stocked with the basic spices and condiments.   The floor is ceramic tile, the cabinets are cherry with slide-out baskets and shelves.  There is an open deck off the breakfast room partially shaded by the pines.  The deck is partially covered by a roof.   There are nine windows in the breakfast room with pleated shades.  The deck is sunny and quite private with a stairway leading to the yard has well as a door into the living room. On the deck is a glass picnic table with umbrella and chairs around it as well as a gas grill with rotiserie.
The living room has four floor to ceiling windows on the south wall looking at pitch pine trees in the front yard.  A fireplace with polished granite hearth flanked by wood storage cupboards and cherry bookcases is on the east wall.  The front of the mantel is faced with marble tiles.  Opposite, on the west wall, are three sets of French doors opening onto a deck leading to a blue stone patio.  The living room has recessed lighting and is 16' x 22'.   The house has wireless internet accesible in all rooms and on the deck.
The master bedroom suite is in the west wing and is 15' x17' has a queen-sized bed with night tables, double dresser, cable TV with VCR/DVD, desk, a walk-in closet and wall to wall carpeting.  Its bathroom has an oversized tub and a two-head shower with skylight.  Outside the bathroom door and closet is a door that opens to a deck, large outdoor shower and fenced-in yard.
The guestroom, located on the north side of the house, has twin beds, walk-in closet and has wall to wall carpeting.  Opposite this room is a second bath with a shower, washer and dryer.  This bath has a large closet for linen storage.  The floor is ceramic tile.
The loft, a suite consisting of a bedroom and outer sitting room, is upstairs across the north end of the house.  The bedroom is furnished with a pair of twin beds with single headboard, night tables and dresser. The sitting room has a queen sized futon couch and dresser which can open as a writing desk. The room has eight casement windows and a skylight and a balcony overlooking the atrium.
There is a very large full basement with many windows.   A ping pong table is in the middle of the room.
