Pride

I pray, it s still possible to regain our Lebanon,

our Pride, we sadly lost for a long, long time.

We demand our rights from the evil minds

their influence is un-just, we mind & despise.

Our hands may be tied but not the mind;

wisdom we ve been granted with knowledge,

a blessing with God s light, the perpetrator s

enemy, of which they are deprived.

Darkness is only friendly to barbaric ghosts when

money talks, for foreign traitors, shaded with

animal masks; trained in tiny cells, away from

God s path by in-human, in-significant executors

that perform cowardly shots into the sincere hearts

of Lebanese Minds, assassinated in broad day-light.

The sun shines daily in Lebanon, on its Cedars, Byblos

& Baalbeck; heavenly, was the gift, no one else s prey

to loot away. It was only meant for the Spirit in each

to rise, for warmth to provide, an olive glitter

within eyes, that shine with smiles,

rays of joy to refill hearts & minds.

The East & West remember Beirut Airport, a favourite

on the Med, where only clouds block the sun out, then

within hours, comply and break. Lucky small nation, who

were envied by neighbours for the civilization, our education,

an art to communicate. Blessed we were, with an aspiration

for languages, for colours, to reflect our freedom of choice.

With patriotic pride, we were fed by the Provider,

the Creator of Lebanon, of Heaven on Earth.
