Carnaval! (aka JOCUM Impacto at Carnaval!) |
Yes, I went to Carnaval. But you won't see any half-naked Samba dancers on this page. I went there as part of JOCUM's (Ywam Brazil) outreach at Carnaval. We got to learn a dance and be in the afternoon parade with drums which was super cool. Then at night, we'd have drama performances or just talk to people on the street. It was incredible the things that God did in those 4 days! Here are my few pictures: |
Me and Megan. She's from Nova Scotia and was one of my roommates. Love her to death! We had a lot of fun! |
Ouro Preto's town square. Basically where the party's at. This is while we were in the parade! Good times! |
Us walking through the streets of Ouro Preto. There were 200 or 300 of us in the group with about 30 foreigners from all over the world. I met a really funny British girl, an awesome South African, etc. |
This was our room for the 4 days. 25 girls in this one room. It was cramped but I definitely got to know a lot of new people! |
This is my room at home: |

This is my room at the Refuge House: (yes, those other beds were being used!) |
Do you know which one I like better? C'mon, y'all, it's easy if you know me! The room on the right. While I do love my bed, sharing a room with a bunch of other girls is so much fun! Well, I think so at least. |
