When I get round to doing it all, this page will be a transcript of my BSAC diving log book.

xx. xxth mmm ccyy Description of dive xx mins to xxm
Logbook entry

42. 3rd Nov 1998 the Islands, Dahab, Egypt. 43 mins to 14m
Spotted the crocodile fish again - strange looking thing. Only three barracuda this time - the croc must be eating them!! More lionfish, and a stringray. Visibility was a bit murky. Back up through the small hole in the cavern - my favourite bit.

43. 3rd Nov 1998 Lighthouse Reef, Dahab, Egypt. PADI Night Diver. Dive 1. 51 mins to 13m
PADI night dive specialty dive 1. Entered the illuminated sandy bottom shore entry and followed the reef to the East. Saw lots of lionfish, barracude and urchins. Also a stonefish nestled in a crag. Explored the wrecked car - not much left of it - and did a navigation exercise. Visibility quite good apart from one place where it was virtually non existant. The full moon added something.

44. 5th Nov 1998 the Canyon, Dahab, Egypt. 51 mins to 30m
Quite a strong current. Entered the canyon in the opposite direction and exited via the goldfish bowl. Sat around in the bowl and watched the world go by - losts of glassfish - very peaceful. Also saw a dragonfish, octopus, eels, barracude and Mr crododile fish

45. 6th Nov 1998 Lighthouse Reef, Dahab, Egypt. PADI Night Diver. Dive 2. 46 mins to 20m
Followed the same route as last night's dive, but went a little deeper. Saw a puffer fish, lionfish, barracuda and lots of urchins. Navigation exercise at the end - navigated a square for the second time in my life - imagine my surprise!!

46. 8th Nov 1998 The Bells and the Blue Hole, Dahab, Egypt. 35 mins to 35m
Entered headfirst down to 27m and through the archway of the Bells. Drifted along the coral wall up to the Blue Hole and circled the rim. Less dramatic than the last dive here - nobody ran out of air or lost their tank.

47. 8th Nov 1998 Abu Helal, Dahab, Egypt. 24 mins to 19m
The Feather of the Quarter Moon. A coral bottom, difficult shore entry and exit. Finally saw a decent shoal of barracude and a very nice, very large sea turtle. A carpet of coral - very nice. The two German divers completely lost their buoyancy control and were up and down like a pair of yo-yos.

48. 11th Nov 1998 Lighthouse Reef, Dahab, Egypt. PADI Night diver. Dive 3. 39 mins to 32m
Awesome!! The best dive I've ever done. Third and final dive of the PADI night diver specialty and deeper than the other two. Everywhere we shone the torch, there seemed to be something. Beautiful fan coral, a very colourful moray eel opening and closing its mouth, a collection of rabbitfish and a very nice puffer fish were amongst the many highlights. Also the usual collection of regal Lionfish, barracuda and urchins. This is what diving is all about. Oh yeah, nearly forgot about the Spanish Dancer which "turned a few steps" for us.

49. 11th Nov 1998 Wayne's World, Ras Abu Galum, Egypt. 36 mins to 18½m
Camel safari dive 1. Entered the little channel known as Wayne's World and drifted the 300m to the Bedouin camp. Left hand side of Ras Abu Galum.

50. 11th Nov 1998 Ras Abu Galum, Egypt. 42 mins to 16m
Camel safari dive 2. Coral landscape on right hand side of Ras Abu Galum. Saw a puffer fish, a couple of leopard striped angelfish and a scorpionfish. The coral scenery was very "mountainous". Turned round and retraced our route back to the Bedouin camp, then back on the camels to Dahab. Cool!
