Hi everyone and welcome to our page.  My name is Chuko (chew-co) and I'm a 2 year old yellow Lab. I love football and baseball... well actually anything that you throw and I can go get it. The other Lab with me in the picture is Nina, she's a little younger than me, but man is she bossy.  She thinks I'm silly for getting all crazy over balls, but she just doesn't know what she's missing.  My mom calls her a Diva because she tiptoes around mud or water.  Not me, if I get a chance, I will roll in it AND walk through it.. it's lots of fun.
That's me!
My dad coaches baseball and they call me their 'balldog'.  During practice I get to go get all the little white balls that the boys hit far with their sticks.  That's my favorite part.  I wait and wait till my mom says 'okay go get em'  Man, then I'm gone like the wind.  I wish I could hold more than two in my mouth at a time.  When dad is coaching football, They won't even let me go out there with all those kids!  I KNOW I could make a touchdown if they would just give me the ball.  During football season I have to sit by my Mom and Nina and just watch!  What are they thinking, Lab's PARTICIPATE! not WATCH!
That's Nina!
That's when I first discovered football, I really like playing ball!  I'm sitting up, that's Nina the Diva, laying in the front.
My family lives outside Houston, Texas.  I have one human sister and one human brother. Nina and my sister always hang out together, they are alot alike, they like to take things a little easier than me.  I like the boy, man, he likes to get as dirty as I do.. we have lots of fun.  Sometimes after we play mom tells my boy that she can't tell us apart, I don't know what the fuss is over, and why she makes him go straight to the bath and clean it all off!  We worked real hard to get all that cool good smelling mud on us!  What is she thinking???  But we just work harder next time.  Me and Nina really like our family because we do lots of fun stuff.  We especially like to get in the back of daddy's truck when he washes it.  Nina likes to bite at the water and I like laying on my back and getting squirted.  My mom says we are always cracking her up.  I don't want to make her crack, We just really like being silly. After all the fun, we really like going inside and sleeping on my moms feet, she calls me her big baby, I'm a big boy, but I like being her baby. She says Nina is her sweet  angel.
That's me and Nina under my mom's chair, I always lay right on it so she can't go anywhere without me knowing, and I always keep a ball near!
Nina and Lucky attacking their Kong (Lucky had mine cause I stole his.)
I stole the tiny kong .. I love licking out the paste.
Other pictures of us...
Nina said it is rude to beg, but it works!
Mom took my ball and had it behind her back, she said that was the only way I would sit still.
That's when we first came home !

Mom said we are her shadow. I don't know why she would say that, my cousin's name is shadow but he is a little black dog.  We don't look anything alike!

Commandments for a pet owner - as told from a pets perspective:
1.  My life is likely to last 10-15 years.  Any separation will be painful.
2.  Give me time to understand what you want from me.
3.  Place your trust in me - it is crucial for my well-being.
4. Don't be angry at me for long and don't lock me up as punishment.  You have work, friends, entertainment.  I only have YOU!
5.  Talk to me.  Even if I don't understand the words.  I understand your voice when it is speaking to me.
6.  Be aware that no matter how you treat me, I will never forget.
7.  Before you hit me, remember I have teeth that could easily crush the bones in your hand, yet I choose not to bite you.
8.  Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something may be bothering me.  Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I've been out in the sun too long or my heart may getting old and weak.
9.  Take care of me when I get old, you too will get old.
10.  Go with me on difficult journeys.  Never say, 'Let it happen in my absence.'  Everything is easier for me if you are there.
Remember:  I'm yours and I LOVE YOU!
