How's Queen Elizabeth (the III) doing?  We have known each other for almost nine years and darnit, i've hardly ever had to spend a day in a Vancouver school without you.  I know that with you, I will never have to say goodbye for wherever I will go, I know you will be there with me by my side.  I thank you for offering to move over to Toronto with me and I will surely look forward to that, but even if that plan does not fall through, know that I still appreciated the thought and the enthusiasm that you have shown towards that plan.  These next three years, well, I don't know how different they may be.  You do not live far from me, and I know that I can come see you within a 10 minute walk, so I know that you will never stray too far.  But then, I also know that I will not be able to see you at SFU so that means that I will not be able to have you there with me everday at lunch or afterschool.  It's a shame that we cannot have lunch together anymore.  Whether it was lunch back in elementary school, or lunch during our high school years, you have always made them a memorable time for me.  Thank you for every single thing that you have done for you; you do not know how much I really do appreciate each small sign of friendship, each gesture, each favour, each moment.   I'll miss you after graduation but I know we will see each other again in three years, and my dear QEIII, this following poem is for YOU from your typewriter girl!!  I luv you lots always, forever and a day.
By My Side

There were many days where I felt that I could not stand
And many falls, where I knew that on my feet I would not land
But you were there by my side and through it all
Because you were there, to catch me after every fall

There were times when I just couldn't put up with a single thing
And though you don't do it often, for me you would sing
Always you were there by my side to pull me through
And I know that I would not be who I am, had I not met you

There were moments when I felt like giving up and just caving in
And I felt that I could not stand up, as if my feet were made of tin
Again you were there by my side and you lifted me up on my feet
And you showed me I was meant to come here; you I was meant to meet

There were many instances when I wanted to go home and did not want to stay
No one know what to do, and I sure did not know what to say
Yet you were there by my side and what I needed, you always knew
And you stayed with me through it all, and together, we grew

There are memories now that no one knows whether they will last
Whether they are all a part of our future, or a part of our past
And you are here by my side and never have you left me behind
And always, the type of friend I needed, you were that kind.
