Another Year.. 2002 has come and gone and it is 2003 now. It's finally the year of our graduation. It's hard to believe that it has come so quickly. I can remember when I first started this page. I kept saying I was going to get it done before Grade 10 ended. Then, it changed to Grade 11. Changing it to the end of our grad year didn't help, either, seeing as how quickly it is now flying by. Pretty soon, in less than six months, it's going to be 6:00pm and we're going to be on our way to the Queen Elizabeth Theater. We're all going to be dressed up in our graduation gowns and we're going to be outside taking pictures and acting like it's just some other grad event (which, in a way, it is). Then, our parents, siblings, and relatives start showing up and more pictures are taken. Then, when it's finally time, we'll go inside and we'll listen to many many speeches.. Some of us may remember them all, and some may just not pay attention and treat it like some other lecture. Then, after all the awards and pins have been given out, we'll file out of the room just as we filed into the room during the ceremony. And just two or so weeks after that, we'll be sweating it in the gym taking our provincials and then, we'll look back at Gladstone then turn around.. And that will be the last of our high school experience. Can you believe that? It's going to happen in LESS than half a year. Hopefully, we'll spend those months well.. Because we can't go back and make things better. It's no use regretting things that are too far back to change.. People have been wondering about whether I'm leaving right after graduation or not. To be honest, sometimes, I wonder it, too! I know I promised someone that I would stay until I got my BA in approximately three years from grad. But sometimes, I wonder if it's the right choice. What if I can't make the transfer into York University after I get my BA? Well, regardless of it all, I'll stick with my promise for now. A lot of you probably don't know what my plans are following graduation, so I suppose I could inform you all now. I plan on going to university to get my BA in three years (I'll be taking summer courses, so I don't have to spend four years trying to get the degree). Then, after that, I'm going to try and make a transfer to York University where I can further my degree. And, if I need to and if I am able to, I will be going into Law School. After that, I'll work there until I retire. And when I retire, I'll be moving to Nova Scotia (Cape Breton Island). Sometimes, it's really annoying when people insult Nova Scotia. Sure, they're known for fisheries and stuff, but does that mean everyone who is there or works there is a fisher? NO! So, then, stop asking me if I'm going there because I want to be a fisher! And it's mean for those of you who think all they DO there is fish to be thinking that. BC is a province 'known' for lumber and such.. But does that mean the only occupation people have is being a lumberjack or sawmill person? The same goes with Nova Scotia. They have teachers, too. They have doctors and stuff, too! Anyway...With the end of 2002, I know I leave a lot behind. For one thing, I am leaving my birthday behind, because it was the last birthday I would have been celebrating with anyone here in Vancouver. Starting next school year, we'll all be too busy, especially me, to do anything about it, so I've decided I won't. It was hard enough this year, because everyone was so busy. It was the last year I was going to be celebrating my birthday because life will be too hard to make room for celebrating.. I am very very sorry for this because it also means that I probably won't have time to celebrate all of YOUR birthdays. I'll try my hardest to be there to wish you the best.. But I can't make promises to everyone because it just doesn't come that easily. I'll apologize now for any birthday that I may not be around for, starting July 2003. Welps, there's nothing much that I want to rant about this year, because I've yet to finish my Grad Page, which will be posted as soon as I am finished. I've still got many many parts to do, so stop rushing me, Jane (M)!!! Don't make me cut off your hunger management supply!! I wish you all the best year and the best of luck. I hope you'll all be able to stay happy althroughout this year. Smile because you can, and only cry when you must. Luv a stranger and luv your friends. Live a vivid life and cherish everything and everyone you have, because one day, when it's gone, you'll miss it! |
