The Ritual of English Tea Preparation

There is something about the preparation of a "proper" cup of English tea that can't help but make you feel special.  There are certain rules that have to be followed, however!  The teapot must first be warmed with boiling water before the tea leaves can be placed inside.  Then, the pot must be filled with very hot water.  It should be allowed to steep for a minimum for five minutes.  Milk is then poured into the cup before the tea is added.  All Englishmen insist it makes a difference to have the milk poured first, and no doubt they are right!  After the tea is poured, hot water can be added to the teapot to "top it off".  Cover with a tea cozy and let it steep until ready for a second cup.
