This is a poem I wrote in the 7th Grade as an assignment. It is called an "I Am" poem. You have the opportunity to write and send in your own "I Am" poems at the bottom of this page. Below is mine:
I am a friendly girl who loves to dance.
I wonder if I will become a professional dancer.
I hear the music of the piano.
I see the red roses at a dance recital.
I want to dance forever.
I am a friendly girl who loves to dance.
I pretend that I have a leading role in a major ballet.
I feel the soft, pink leather of a ballet shoe.
I touch the smoothness of the wooden dance floor.
I cry when I am doing a dance move and fall.
I am a friendly girl who loves to dance.
I understand that I can't dance forever.
I say that dance is fun, but is very hard work.
I dream that I am a famous dancer.
I try to perform my best.
I hope that I will join a major ballet company.
