Kathy Garver: Class of '70

For the latest word on fashion these days, take a good look at Family Affair's Kathy Garver! The petite brown-eyed actress, who is a recent graduate of UCLA, agreed to an exclusive fashion layout for TV and Movie Screen. When we suggested we use the UCLA campus as a background, she couldn't have been more delighted! Kathy, a true veteran of show business by the time she entered high school, started studying ballet, tap dancing and singing when she was 3, and began doing TV commercials at the age of 8. When still a child, she appeared in Cecil B. de Mille's The Ten Commandments. The late de Mille was so impressed with her that he had extra scenes specifically written for this talented child prodigy! So when she began her studies at UCLA, it was only natural that she major in speech and theatre. As can be seen from these photos, the fashion sense she's also managed to acquire puts classy Kathy at the head of the class. However, although like any other girl, she adores buying clothes, she has other interests, as well. Besides painting and playing piano, Kathy is active in civic affairs. Currently the 21-year-old actress is serving as National Teen-Age Chairman for the March of Dimes, and Honorary Chairman of the California Youth Conference for the Mentally Retarded. All this, and she's pretty besides!
