A friend is someone whom you can share your deepest with. A person who, regardless of the circumsti, will accept, w/out being asked to. It is someone who will be there, when the sky has fallen, and you have lost all sense in your faith, your dreams, yourself. A friend is, quite simply, a secret god. Forgiving, understanding, patience, and wise concerning what you need, when you need it.

Megan - A friend is somebody who you can be perfectly blunt with and expect an honest response. You can trust them with your inner-most thoughts and don't have to worry about being insulted. They understand your feelings, as you understand theirs. A friend is a helping hand that guides us through all the obstacles in our lives. A friend always knows how to make you feel "normal" when you're down. A friend is a necessity to life.

Laura (laura@eaze.screaming.net) - I am not sure that there could be an objective answer to the question, 'what is a friend?' It seems that it has already evoked a lot of abstract concepts like trust honesty real etc. these all seem to be concepts that would need to be checked out for mutuality. I think a friendship is possibly an alliance, a mostly subconscious contractual agreement to stay within the joint limitations of the relationship. .
