Scott - A friend is someone whom you can share your deepest with. A person who, regardless of the circumsti, will accept, w/out being asked to. It is someone who will be there, when the sky has fallen, and you have lost all sense in your faith, your dreams, yourself. A friend is, quite simply, a secret god. Forgiving, understanding, patience, and wise concerning what you need, when you need it.
Sam - Someone
who you can trust and look up to. Someone who understands yourpoint of view
and respects it. Someone who can tell you what you need toknow, without hesitation.
Someone who likes you for who you are, inside. Rachel A. - A friend is someone who you could count on. They're the person
you share all your dreams, hopes and fears with. They understand
you, and you them. They are open and honest with you, because they
care for you. They understand you.
Rachel B. - A

makes you happy when you're sad, and helps you out when you needit-gives you
a shoulder to lean on, so to say. Molly -A friend
is someone you can always count on. Someone who is honestwith you. They don't
try to put you down or hurt your feelings or act likethey are better than you.
A friend is someone who is always your friend. Irvin - Someone
you can talk to about anything. A person who will stand by you no matter what
kinds of wacky things you do. A person you trust, care about, and who would never
betray you, or try to take advantage of you. A friend is someone who will always
be there. Greggory R. - A
friend is the truest relection of our highest(hidden) self. A friend represents
those values and standards that are dear to us. A true friend is one who helps
us learn who we are. A true friend shows us how to love ourselves! Megan - A
friend is somebody who you can be perfectly blunt with and expect an honest
response. You can trust them with your inner-most thoughts and don't have to
worry about being insulted. They understand your feelings, as you understand
theirs. A friend is a helping hand that guides us through all the obstacles
in our lives. A friend always knows how to make you feel "normal" when you're
down. A friend is a necessity to life. Laura

- I
am not sure that there could be an objective answer to the question, 'what is a friend?' It seems that it has already evoked a lot of abstract concepts like trust honesty real etc. these all seem to be concepts that would need to be checked out for mutuality. I think a friendship is possibly an alliance, a mostly subconscious contractual agreement to stay within the joint limitations of the relationship.
