Gopher-Mania

G ophers are smart little critters
Who live in burrows under the ground.
We'd never suspect they were anywhere near
Were it not for piles of dirt all around.

They dig their tunnels at incredible speed
Ever expanding their underground maze.
I don't know how they know where they're going
But, believe it friend, they have their ways.

It's amazing that it's all done in the dark
The critters can't see a thing as they go.
With uncanny precision they burrow away
As they carve out their domain down below.

Now, understand, I wish these critters no harm.
Their destructive habits I might even pardon.
I can even admire the skill they possess
But, not when they're under MY GARDEN!
