The aim of this series:
“Then He said to them, ‘O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory?’ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.” Luke 24:25-27.

Genesis 2 continued
Eve
Where did Eve come from? And why?
Those were the questions raised last time.
***************
Genesis 2:15-25
And the LORD God took the man
[before Eve was created], and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it [it was reserved for God]: for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die [because of your action]."And the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet
[fit] for him."And out of the ground the LORD God
[had] formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air [male and female]; and [now He] brought them to Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name [character] of it [because he was made with that knowledge]. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him.And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs
[from over his heart], and closed up the flesh instead of it; and the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made He [into] a woman, and brought her to the man.And Adam said
[describing her reason for existence, as he had of the animals], "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called ‘Woman’, because she was taken out of ‘Man’. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother [and so shall a woman], and shall cleave to his wife [spouse]: and they shall be one flesh."And they were both naked
[but only to each other], the man and his wife, and were not ashamed [being covered with a robe of light before their Father and His angels as all God’s creatures are].***************
This "operation" which Jesus performed was to show the angels where Eve had been all the time – inside the newly created Adam. She was originally a part of him, but now that part was separated and stood in its own physical body. Although she had come from within Adam she was not a mirror image of him. She was physically different, reaching only to his shoulder and made with a different form, but obviously in his likeness. What was not immediately apparent was the fact that she was quite different emotionally, and that Adam was no longer complete.
Adam’s statement regarding her position showed that she was to remain one with him through marriage to reinstate that completeness, as were her children with their partners when they reached maturity. All this was in the Son of God’s plan.
Naturally, the watching angels, both loyal and rebellious, queried what this all meant to them. Later, the wise man of the earth was to piece it all together and his words sum it up for us. Below, he speaks of the Son of God.

Proverbs 8:22-32
The LORD possessed Me in the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth
[or the universe] was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth
[from within the Father]; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: while as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world [in the original creation].[Yes,] when He prepared the heavens, I was there: when He set a compass upon the face of the depth: when He established the clouds above: when He strengthened the fountains of the deep: when He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not pass His commandment: when He appointed the foundations of the earth: then I was by Him, as one brought up with Him: and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him; rejoicing in the habitable part of His earth; and My delights were with the sons of men.
Now therefore hearken to Me, O you children: for blessed are they that keep My ways.

The apostle John understood what this meant and he wrote for us:-

John 1:1-18
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made…
No man has seen God
[the Father] at any time; the only begotten Son, which is [was] in the bosom of the Father, He has declared [or shown] Him.
Hebrews 1:3
[Jesus] who, being the brightness of His [the Father’s] glory [character], and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of Hods power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high…
***************
Just as Eve came forth from Adam and became a new person, so the ONLY begotten Son of God came forth into a separate existence, yet was still one with the Father. He stood, not as a created being, but as One who possessed all the attributes of God, One who had life in Himself. That’s why He also is called "God" and can be worshipped.

Hebrews 1:5-12
For to which of the angels said He at any time, "You are My Son, this day have I begotten You?"
And again, "I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son?"
And again, when He brings in the firstbegotten into the world, He says, "And let all the angels of God worship Him."
And of the angels He says, "Who makes His angels
[helping] spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire."But to the Son He
[the Father] says, "Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre [authority] of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness [right doing], and hated iniquity; therefore God, even Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.""And, You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of Your hands: they shall perish
[if You don’t keep them going]; but You remain; and they all shall wax old as does a garment; and as a vesture shall You fold them up, and they shall be changed: but You are the same [immortal], and Your years shall not fail."***************
Jesus said, "For as the Father has life in Himself; so has He given to the Son to have life in Himself." John 5:26.
He also declared, "I am the resurrection, and the life." John 11:25, which tells us that in Him is life, original, unborrowed, underived, and that His divinity is the believer's assurance of eternal life.
***************
1 John 5:11-13
And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life. These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Now let’s look at that nakedness! It is so misunderstood!
By the wedding garment in the parable of Matthew 22:12 is represented the pure, spotless character which Christ's true followers will possess in the resurrection. To the church it is given "that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white," "not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing." Revelation 19:8; Ephesians 5:27. The fine linen, says the Scripture, "is the righteousness of saints." Revelation 19:8. It is the righteousness of Christ, His own unblemished character, that through faith is imparted to all who receive Him as their personal Saviour.
In the same manner, the white robe of innocence was worn by our first parents when they were placed by God in holy Eden. They lived in perfect conformity to the will of God. All the strength of their affections was given to their heavenly Father. A beautiful soft light, the light of God, enshrouded the holy pair. This robe of light was a symbol of their spiritual garments of heavenly innocence. Had they remained true to God it would ever have continued to enshroud them.
But when sin entered, they severed their connection with God, and the light that had encircled them departed. Physically naked and ashamed, they tried to supply the place of the heavenly garments by sewing together fig leaves for a covering, showing that they knew they should not be unclothed. Genesis 3:7.
The place of Eve.
God Himself gave Adam a companion. He provided "a help meet for him" - a helper corresponding to him - one who was fitted to be his companion, and who could be one with him in love and sympathy.
Eve was created from a rib taken from the side of Adam, signifying that she was not to control him as the head, nor to be trampled under his feet as an inferior, but to stand by his side as an equal, to be loved and protected by him. A part of man, bone of his bone, and flesh of his flesh, SHE WAS HIS SECOND SELF, showing the close union and the affectionate attachment that should exist in this relation. "For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it." Ephesians 5:29.
It was His understanding of this fact that made Jesus so beloved of women while on earth. They saw that He treated them as equals and not as the chattels that Satan had reduced them to in most men’s eyes. However, careful search of the Old Testament will soon reveal the fact that foreign women did not hesitate to join themselves in marriage to the Israelites, because they knew that they would not have to give up their independence in doing so. That women were second class citizens and should be "kept in their place", is a myth set up by Satan because of his fear of women (they were an new and unknown element in the universe at the creation and he knew this meant no good to him). Since that time he has hated and feared all women, and yet often used them in his attempts to lead God’s people astray.
In line with God’s purpose, when Hannah (the prophet Samuel’s mother) received her son as a special gift she purposed in her heart to return him to the Lord as a picture of God giving us His only Son. 1 Samuel 2:10-11. She did not ask her husband’s permission before she made the vow, but it should come as no surprise to us that he agreed with her. Verses 21-23.
Then, at the end of the sixth day the creation was complete.
"The heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them." "And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Eden bloomed on earth. Adam and Eve had free access to the tree of life. No taint of sin or shadow of death marred the fair creation. "The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy." Job 38:7.
However, our first parents, though created innocent and holy, were not placed beyond the possibility of wrongdoing. God made them free moral agents, capable of appreciating the wisdom and benevolence of His character and the justice of His requirements, and with full liberty to yield or to withhold obedience. They were to enjoy communion with God and with holy angels; but before they could be rendered eternally secure, their loyalty must be tested.
And in that test the position of Eve was paramount.
