String Angel
Materials:
Crochet Yarn
Cardboard
Scrap Ribbon piece
Pompom (for head), size will depend on size of angel
Cording or ribbon for Halo
Instructions:
From cardboard, cut a square the length you would like the angel to be.
Cut another piece of cardboard about 1/3 the size of your first piece. Wrap crochet cotton around your large cardboard piece 50 times to form the body.
Wrap crochet cotton around your smaller cardboard piece 25 times to form the arms. Carefully slip your cotton off of the cardboard, being careful not to tangle the cotton and keeping your finger inserted between one layer of cardboard and cotton.
Using a pompom proportionate to the body size, insert between the two layers of cotton and tie a piece of cotton around the base of the pompom, securing all of the threads and completely concealing the pompom (this will form your head).
With your smaller wrap, tie a piece of cotton around both ends to secure strands in place. And attach as shown in photo.
Cut a small piece of ribbon to form the wings and glue or stitch to the back of your angel. Glue or stitch a piece of ribbon or what ever you choose to form a halo.
Cut the bottom threads to form a skirt and cut the end threads of the arms to desired length. You can also put something in the angels hands to hold.
