GUITAR
TUNING:
Wes Borland is the crazy ass guitarist for Limp Bizkit. He uses 2 guitars but
he has many different models of them. For Nookie he has a Bass 'A' string for
the low string then he took away the low 'E' and used the next 3 strings on
a normal guitar and took away the last 2 strings. He tunes the [low to high]
like this: F#, F#, B, E.
This is Wes's main guitar. He used to use a black one but once LB became popular he got this red one and he has a yellow and red striped one he uses for backup but at concerts it looks redish orange. He strings this "Ibanez RG7" with 7 strings and i forgot the tuning but go to the tabs and it has it there.
This is one of wes's other main guitars (just a different model which he got when significant other came out) which he strings with 7 strings. Lately though he has had this guitar strung with 4 strings to the nookie tuning so he can play nookie with it.
This is Wes's "Nookie Guitar" which he has customly strung with 4 strings to the tuning above. He uses this guitar for nookie and only nookie and if you watch the nookie video this is the guitar he has. I havn't seen wes use this guitar lately b/c hes been using the red one above for nookie as stated up there.
Here Are some pics of Wes with his new RG7 model that he got from ibanez. I
first saw him use this guitar at Family Values '99.

7 STRINGS:
If you think you've
seen everything a 7-string can do...YOU'RE WRONG! If you haven't already, check
out Wes Borland. You'll find a fresh, totally unique approach on the 7-string
in rock. His use of unconventional tunings & techniques makes him a welcome
addition to the 7-string community.
Instead of opting for the traditional tuning of the 7-string (low to high: BEADGBE), Wes incorporates 3 unique tunings:
Tuning #1: C# F# B E G# C# C#
He tunes the bottom 6-strings like a regular guitar, then the 1st string is
tuned to same pitch as the 2nd string (for sitar-like drones), then he tunes
the entire guitar down 1 1/2 steps to C#. Got it?
Tuning #2: B F# B E G# C# C#
The same as Tuning #1, except drop the 7th string down 1 step to Low B. This
is basically a "Dropped" tuning.
Tuning #3: C# F# B E G# C# F#
The same as Tuning #1, except tune the 1st string up to a high F# (a fourth
higher)
...And for added fun, Wes has a specially-built 4-string guitar. He uses it for a slap-and-tap technique. His tunings are: Low F# (.085 gauge string!), F# (octave higher), B, and E. To hear this creation in action, listen their songs: "Nookie", "Sour", & "Stalemate".
