'Toppers Reign Supreme
1998-99 Season in Review

Just when things seemed bleak with the team going just 5-4 in the month of February, the Lady 'Toppers picked themselves up and captured its second WVIAC Championship in three years. Led by Tournament MVP, Katie Bohus, and All-Tournament selections, Erica Bevington and Adrianne Harlow, the Lady 'Toppers defeated Fairmont State, Glenville State, and Alderson-Broaddus to claim a conference title and advance to the NCAA tournament. The 19-11 Lady 'Toppers entered Regional play seeded sixth and had their season come to an end with a 64-77 loss to third seeded Belmont Abbey.

West Liberty started its season slowly, winning just one of its first five games before catching fire and defeating 12 of their next 14 games. First team All-WVIAC post player, Kelly Easton, enjoyed a huge year before a late season ankle injury forced her to miss most of the rest of the season. The team rallied around second team All-WVIAC conference pivot, Erica Bevington, and jelled for its annual late-season run. Team members, Lyndsey Frank-Cummins, Rachael Dedo, Holly Bock, Tyra Conaway, Amanda Burchett, Shay Glauser, Toni Oliverio, and Leah Hulsey all made important contributions to the championship run.
