MRS. DEMPSEY
DIES SUDDENLY
Mrs. Ursula Smith Dempsey, wife of Tom Dempsey of the Dempsey Jersey Cattle Farms, died unexpectedly at her home 6050 Westerville Rd., Saturday morning. A native of Ironwood, Mich., Mrs. Dempsey had made her home here since 1902.
Alive with the desire to serve her community in a very real way, Mrs. Dempsey was recognized as one of the chief promoters of Red Cross in since the work was started here. She served as chairman of the Production Committee of the Red Cross through two wars. To her Red Cross in war time meant sacrifice and she gladly cancelled social engagements to give freely of her time to keep ahead of the chapter's quotas. Much of the success of Westerville's fine showing as regards the Red Cross production for World War I and II was due Mrs. Dempsey.
Dr. R. B. Wilson officiated at private funeral services at 2 p.m. Monday at the residence. Entombment was in Otterbein Mausoleum by the Fichner Funeral Home.
