Mrs. Leona D. Kelser, age 79, died Monday in Mann Nursing home. She had lived the past two years in Washington D. C. with a daughter, Mrs. George Hatch. Prior to that she was an active and much respected member of our community.
A member of the Westerville Methodist Church, she served as financial secretary for 27 years, from 1925 to 1952, and was also an official board member.
Mrs. Kelser became a member of the Westerville Board of Education in 1924, became a clerk of the board in 1936, and served until her retirement on April 1, 1948.
She was the widow of the late Rev. Milo Kelser, a Methodist minister.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George Hatch of Washington D. C., and Mrs. Joseph Mihalka of Columbus; three grandsons, Robert and Richard Puglia, and Josef Mihalka; 4 great-grandchildren; and two brothers of Lorain, Ohio.
Funeral services were held yesterday in the Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard P. Coad officiating entombment was made in Otterbein Mausoleum by the Moreland Funeral Home.
