Funeral services for Alpheus A. Rich, one of the leading business men of the village for the past 25 years, who died at his home, 61 W. Park St., will be held at the residence today at 2:30 p. m. Rev. W. L. Steffens of the Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be made in Otterbein Mausoleum in charge of G. W. Stockdale & Son.
All business houses will be closed from 2:30 to 3:30 p. m. during the funeral services.
Mr. Rich was born on a farm near Centerburg and spent his early life there. He went to work in the bank at Johnstown and later was in business in Columbus. Twenty-five years ago he came to Westerville and opened an insurance agency. The business will be continued by Mrs. Mary Morris, his secretary for the past 10 years.
His death was due to injuries and shock suffered on June 15, when his car struck a tree on Harbor Rd., to avoid a collision with another auto.
Mr. Rich is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Rich; one sister, Mrs. Louise Gorsuch of Castalia, and one brother, Fred Rich of Perry, Mo.
