Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church, Sunday afternoon, for Don Carlos Lawson, aged 67, 115 East Lincoln Street, who succumbed in White Cross Hospital, Columbus, Thursday evening. Death came as the result of a broken hip which he sustained in a fall on the icy sidewalk in front of his home about a month previous.
The Scottish Rite ring service was used at the services in the church and the Blue Lodge ceremony was held at the mausoleum in Otterbein cemetery where the body was interred.
Rev. J. C. White officiated at the services and burial was made under the direction of G. W. Stockdale & Son.
The deceased, a retired contractor, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Percie Lawson, and two brothers, Charles of Cincinnati, and Homer of Canton.
Mr. Lawson was one of the most active masons of this vicinity. He was past master of Blendon Lodge, past high priest of Horeb Chapter and past thrice illustrious master of Zabud Council. In addition he was a member of Mizpah Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, of Scioto Consistory, Scottish Rite, Columbus, of Twilight Rebekah Lodge, of the Galena Chapter of Odd Fellows and of the Presbyterian church.
In his early years, Mr. Lawson served in Co. C, 14th Regiment, Ohio National Guard, and took part in subsiding the Cincinnati riots of 1884. b>

Don Carlos Lawson was initiated Oct. 27, 1899; fellow Craft degree Nov. 24, 1899; and raised to the Sublime degree in Sparrow Lodge No. 400 Sunbury; transferred to Blendon Lodge No. 339 Jan. 4, 1909, and served as Worshipful Master, 1914.
Received the Mark Master degree Feb. 19, 1908; Past Master Feb. 24, 1908; Most Excellent Master Feb. 24, 1908; and Royal Arch degree Feb. 26, 1908 in Horeb Chapter No. 3, and served as High Priest in 1915.
He received the Royal Master March 4, 1908; Select Master March 4, 1908; and Super Excellent Master degree March 27, 1908, in Zabud Council No. 99, and served as Thrice Illustrious Master in 1913.
Mr. Lawson was a member of Scioto Consistery Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus.
