Dies Suddenly Sept. 19

Heart disease caused the death Friday at Grant hospital of Mrs. Mary Susan Baker, aged 74, wife of W. O. Baker, West College avenue. Mrs. Baker had not been in the best of health but her condition at the time of her death was not considered critical. She was resting in the observatory of the hospital when she was stricken with death. She and her husband have lived in since 1898, having moved here from Maryland to provide educational facilities for their children. Mr. Baker was for nine years secretary and treasurer of Otterbein College.
In addition to her husband she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Howard Newton of Lansing, Mich.; the Misses Mary Neikirk Baker, Verna Raye Baker and Lulu May Baker all of Westerville; and one son Walter E. Baker of Pittsburgh. She was a member of the United Brethren church.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the residence, Rev. S. W. Keister officiating. Burial was made in Otterbein Cemetery by Earl F. Keyes.
