June Courtright Stewart
June Courtright Stewart, 657 Old Coach Rd., sister of latePublic Opinion owner and publisher A. Monroe Courtright, died last Thursday at age 62.
A memorial service was held Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Stewart at Church of the Master United Methodist, where she was an active member.
Mrs. Stewart was a teacher of English and drama for 17 years, 13 of them in Westerville City Schools, and was teacher of the year here in the 1970-71 school year. She was a lifetime member of the Westerville Education Association.
Other affilitations included membership and past presidency of the American Association of University Women and Delta Beta Tau service sorority and alumni membership in Epsilon Kappa Tau sorority at Otterbein College, of which she was a graduate.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband, John D. Stewart; son, John R. Stewart, Westerville city councilman and former editor of the P.O.; daughter Mary Jane Stewart Griffin, of Columbus; grandchildren Matthew J. and Erin M. Stewart of Westerville and Lilla A. Griffin of Columbus; nieces Karla Courtright Banning of Columbus and Kristy Courtright Burrows of Lewiston, Idaho; sister-in-law Mrs. A. Monroe Courtright.
Funeral arrangements were by Hill Funeral Home.
