Is Heart Victim

Funeral service were held last Saturday afternoon in the Methodist Church for Charles R. Bennett, 65, of 40 West Broadway, who died suddenly last Thursday evening in his office at the Bennett Mfg. Co. of which he was owner and president. Apparently death was caused by a heart attack.
He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Methodist Church and served for 17 years as chairman of the board.
Mr. Bennett was an active civic worker, being a charter member of the Westerville Lions Club. He was also a member of the Metropolitan Park Board, the University Club, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, and he was past president of the Columbus Movie Makers Club.
In addition, he was a member of the board of the Town and Country YMCA and he was a past president of the Westerville Historical Society and member of the Westerville Garden Club.
Active in Masonic work, he was a member of the local Masonic orders and in addition, he was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, and he was a member of the Alladin Temple Shrine.
He was a graduate of Otterbein College and received his MA Degree from Ohio State University.
Mr. Bennett's main business interest was with the Bennett Mfg. Co., which is one of Westerville's oldest industrial concerns. It was established in 1883 by the late H.L. Bennett, Mr. Bennett's father. In addition, he was president of the Northern Lights Harmony House, Inc.
Surviving Mr. Bennett are his wife, Louise H.; a daughter, Mrs. Stuart H. Wildman; six grandchildren, and two brothers, Dr. Raymond D. Bennett of Columbus, and Lawrence A. Bennett of Cleveland.
Rev. Richard Coad was in charge of the funeral services and a special Masonic service was held at the cemetery. Entombment was in the Otterbein Mausoleum by the Moreland Funeral Home.
