Funeral services for Robert Reeves Johnston, 87, who died Sunday at the home of his son, W. B. Johnston, 79 S. Grove St., after an illness of six months, were held Tuesday at 3:30 p. m. at the residence. Rev. Ray L. Cross and Rev. F. B. McIntosh officiated. Burial was made in Otterbein Cemetery in charge of K. R. Fichner.
Mr. Johnston was born in Zanesville and came to Columbus when he was a boy. He established himself in the baking and catering business there and became well known.
Thirty-one years ago he came to Westerville and with his son established the Westerville Creamery, which under their guidance has grown into one of the largest industries in the village.
He was a member of the Westerville M. E. Church and the Masons.
Besides his son he leaves five grandchildren, Mrs. Waldo Elliott, Lawson Johnston, Mrs. Edwin Walker, Mrs. Morris McVay and Russell Johnston and eight great-grandchildren, all of Westerville.
